The mudda mandaram serial story revolves around Akhilandeshwari and Parvathi who are strong willed women. Despite of having strong will, these two women never agrees on same thing. Akhilandeshwari has a son named Deva, who loves Parvathi.
The show explores the mindset and conflict between these two women and how it affects their relationships.
Once, a priest pays a visit to their house and predicts that the son of Deva and Parvathi child will bring good fortune for the family. He also tries to convince Akhilandeshwari to change her behavior towards her daughter-in-law Parvathi .
The show has completed its 1500 episodes. The show is also remade is various other languages like Malayalam, Tamil and Kannada language.
